Hear more from our retailers on how Kerry Foods has helped to drive chilled success in their stores.
Ramesh Shingadia, owner of a 2,600 sq. ft. Londis store in Southwater, West Sussex
Ramesh recently invested heavily in his store and its chilled food fixture, almost doubling his chiller space from a seven metre stretch to 13 metres.
“The result has been an instant rise in chilled sales of +70%, with chilled foods now accounting for around a quarter of space in his tore and a similar contribution to overall sales. The knock on effect has been huge, as the higher margins on chilled foods have vastly improved his store’s profitability. He has also seen that the average chilled customer spends an average of £8 per visit, compared with just £6 for shoppers who don’t visit the chiller.”
Raaj Chandarana, owner of 620 sq. ft. Booker Premier Store, Tara News, in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
“As a business we have been here for 17 years, and chilled has always been one of our key challenges.”
In his quest to move up the chilled retailing ladder, Raaj has turned to Kerry Foods for advice about ranging. “The Build a Basket programme that I have embarked on with Kerry Foods is our first step towards taking out chilled offer to another level.”
